Cannon Technologies was founded in 1987 to deliver software for load management and automated distribution to electric utilities.

At the time of its founding, the company focused on developing and integrating systems on a PC platform—a relatively new technology tool on the electric power scene.

During the 1990’s, Cannon Technologies expanded its technology offering to include very large, server based systems to drive enterprise-wide load management, meter data collection and distribution automation. In 1995 the company added a substation information systems business and in 1997, it began to manufacture end user devices based on wireless and power line communication technology.

Today Cannon Technologies' customers include nearly 400 electric utilities across North America. Our systems are used by many of the country’s largest utilities to manage peak load, improve system power factor and improve substation reliability. We have systems at utilities of all sizes and have a staff of seasoned professionals who are expert in the field of power systems, metering and energy management.

Cannon Technologies sells its solutions through its direct sales force, partners and the national sales force of Cooper Power Systems to electric utilities and energy service providers. Cannon Technologies has a large professional staff of software and hardware development professionals and an expert engineering services team. We implement solutions from end-to-end including software, Web services, system design, communications and metering and control devices.
