New Product - Internet Metering & Control

March 17, 1997, Las Vegas, NV....Cannon Technologies Inc. a leading supplier of load management, distribution automation, and remote metering systems will announce availability of Internet Metering & Control at the National Rural Electric Cooperative Association (NRECA) Annual Convention.

Cannon Technologies will unveil details about the system for 658 rural electric engineers as part of the annual "Tech Day" program. The brief presentation titled "Internet Metering - Level the Playing Field", will highlight methods for metering remote wheeling customers. The announcement fits with NRECA's "national branding" campaign that will allow participating coops to function as branches of a single large power company in which wheeling arrangements will be made.

Special features of the Cannon Technologies Internet Metering and Control system include integral use of EMETCON™ Distribution Line Carrier to communicate to scattered meters in a campus, complex, subdivision, town, or plant. The ability to send direct control signals to load control receivers within the remote campus is another feature that sets the system apart from competitive offerings.
