Energy Adopts Cannon Technologies’ ExpressCom™
Load Management Switches and Yukon™ Load Management
Software

announced today that LG&E Energy, parent company of
Louisville Gas & Electric Company and Kentucky Utilities,
has adopted it's ExpressCom™
electric load management switches and Yukon™
software to drive the expansion of its residential load
management program. The LG&E Energy program, Demand
Conservation, currently serves about 22,000 customers with
an additional 100,000 planned over the next five years.
The Cannon system offers LG&E fast, flexible,
and inexpensive wireless coverage together with advanced
technology for optimizing the balance between peak load
relief and customer comfort. In addition, Cannon Technologies'
Yukon™ software platform offers seamless
support for commercial and industrial load management programs
as well as support for advanced consumer control devices
like the new Honeywell/Cannon ExpressStat®
web programmable thermostat.
According to LG&E Energy’s Greg
Fergason, “this technology is one of the lowest cost
options for meeting the growing energy needs of our customers
and maintaining the high level of reliability our customers
expect”.
