Technologies Announces Solid-State AMR Meter
Golden Valley, MN, September 14 , 2004
– Cannon Technologies, Inc. announces the addition
of the MCT-410i Series™ electronic meter to our family
of AMR products.
Developed in conjunction with Sensus Metering
Systems, the MCT-410iL is based on the award-winning Sensus
iCon™ solid-state meter, the most accurate 2S meter
on the market today. A feature-rich integrated metering
and communications module, developed by Cannon Technologies,
provides a list of advanced metering functions along with
fast two-way communication over the EMETCON™ power
line carrier fixed-network.
Designed to replace a single-phase meter,
the MCT-410iL plugs into a standard four-jaw meter socket
and requires no on-site programming or configuration. This
fourth generation design provides superior accuracy, 150
days of on-board load profile, seven days of 5-minute voltage
profile, power interruption logging with time, date, and
duration stamp, voltage threshold alerts, time-stamped peak
demands, advanced TOU with remote programming and critical
peak capability, freeze registers for both energy and voltage,
and more.
Details on the MCT-410iL function set:
a. Reads kWh data directly from the meter calculating Last
Interval kW Demand on a configurable interval from 1 to
60 minutes. Peak demand is recorded with the date and time
it occurred.
b. Records load profile data at 5, 15, 30 and 60 minute
intervals. The default configuration retains 150 days of
Load Profile data for a 15 minute interval.
c. Calculates Voltage Demand over a configurable interval
of 30 seconds to 15 minutes; minimum and maximum voltages
are recorded with the date and time they occurred.
d. Records Voltage Profile data at 5, 15, 30 and 60 minute
intervals. Default configuration stores up to 18 days of
Voltage Profile data for a 15 minute interval.
e. Maintains up to four Time-of-Use rates and schedules
which are remotely configurable by unique or group address.
f. Logs duration, time and date of 6 most recent power interruptions
and counts total number of interruptions (blinks) since
last reset.
g. Unique address and over 8000 group addresses for use
with Freeze Register, Critical Peak, Voltage Min/Max Reset
and Power Outage Counter Reset commands.
“This product really opens up the value equation for
AMR because it does so much more than a standard remote
meter,” said Bill Simons, Cannon Technologies’
Director of AMR Systems. “The 410i becomes the keystone
of intelligent distribution management, allowing utilities
to improve losses, pre-empt local service problems, improve
reliability and power quality, and offer TOU or price responsive
rates. All with a simple fixed network that uses the utility-owned
power line”.
