Cooper Power Systems Completes Product Line of Substation Solutions with Cybectec SMP I/O

Cooper Power Systems, a division of Cooper Industries, Ltd. (NYSE: CBE), announces the introduction of the new Cybectec SMP I/O. The SMP I/O, which effectively completes the Cybectec SMP product line of substation solutions, is a distributed, substation-hardened, contact input/output processing unit. The SMP I/O offers significant savings for utility plants and facilities by reducing the amount of wiring required as well as configuration and commissioning time.

(NYSE: CBE), today announced that Xcel Energy (NYSE: XEL), a leading electricity provider to 3.3 million customers across eight western and midwestern states, will be the first large-scale utility to use Cooper Power Systems Envirotemp® FR3™ fluid in all of its new single-phase pole- and pad-mounted electrical distribution transformers starting next year.

Cooper Power Systems Announces its Cannon Demand Management
Solution Selected by Pacific Gas and Electric Company

Cooper Power Systems, a division of Cooper Industries, Ltd. (NYSE: CBE), announced today that it has been selected by Pacific Gas and Electric Company (PG&E) to provide a system for peak demand reduction designed for PG&E’s residential and small commercial customers. The Cannon Demand Management solution, which is part of Cooper’s Energy Automation Solutions (EAS) group, will enable PG&E to gain at least five megawatts of clean energy capacity by June 15, 2007 and can be expanded to ultimately provide more than 300 megawatts of clean energy capacity by 2010 subject to approval by the California Public Utilities Commission (CPUC). Cooper expects the project will represent between $28 million and $40 million in revenue over the period 2007-2010 if expanded to full capacity.

Cooper Industries Announces the Acquisition of Cybectec Inc.

Cooper Industries, Ltd. (NYSE: CBE) today announced the acquisition of Cybectec, Inc., a privately held worldwide provider of products and software systems designed to assist utilities in modernizing their automation systems with revenues of $8.5 million over the past twelve months. Cybectec will become part of the Cooper Power Systems division of Cooper Industries. With this acquisition, Cooper Power Systems expands its ability to provide customers enterprise-wide solutions allowing secure access to both operational and non-operational electrical system data. Financial terms were not disclosed.
